GenPy AI is your built-in creative partner for writing and improving visual novels. It understands your project, helps with drafting and revision, and can even prepare file changes for you to review.

What It Is

Use GenPy AI when you want help with dialogue, scene writing, character setup, plot ideas, or script cleanup. Because it reads the structure of your project, its suggestions stay grounded in your characters, files, and story flow.

How to Access It

• Open the AI panel from the right side of the workspace for quick help while you write
• Switch to the dedicated Agent workspace mode when you want a more focused AI-first workflow

• Project-aware help: Understands your files, characters, and story structure so replies feel relevant to your project
• Direct editing: Can prepare changes to your files and show a diff for you to accept, reject, or undo
• Real-time streaming: Responses appear as they are generated, so you can follow the assistant's thinking live

Ways to Work with GenPy AI

Chat mode

Use chat mode for back-and-forth brainstorming, editing advice, and quick creative support. This is great for asking questions, testing ideas, or refining a scene line by line.

Direct Edit mode

Use Direct Edit mode when you want GenPy AI to make changes for you. It will prepare edits in your files, show you what changed, and let you review before anything is finalized.

Story Generation

Use Story Generation when you want help creating a full chapter or a larger story section. GenPy AI first creates a plan for you to approve, then builds the draft based on that plan.

INFO

You stay in control. AI-generated edits are reviewable, and you can reject or undo changes if needed.

Usage Tips

• Be specific, such as: "Add a choice at the end of chapter 1: go home / find a friend"
• Select the relevant file before chatting so the assistant can focus on the right context
• You can work in Chinese, English, Japanese, and other languages
• Good prompts to try:

Privacy

GenPy AI only reads your project files inside GenPy so it can help with your work. Your content is not used to train models.
